How to Sell Cracked OLED Screens for Cash (Shop Guide)
How repair shops sell cracked OLED and LCD screens: what qualifies, what lowers the grade, how to ship, and how PayPal, Zelle, or Cash App payout works.
By ReCellZone team · Updated
You can sell cracked original screens to a buyback service instead of throwing them away. Send them in, we grade them by hand and make an offer, and when you accept, we pay by PayPal, Zelle, or Cash App within 24 hours.
Can you sell a cracked phone screen?
Yes, if the screen is an original and the display and touch still work. The glass can be shattered. What buyers care about is the panel underneath, because a working original OLED or LCD can be re-glassed and used again.
This is how many repair shops turn a pile of cracked screens into cash. Every phone you repair leaves one behind, and the pile adds up quickly.
ReCellZone is the business-to-business service of Cell Zone USA. We buy cracked original screens from repair shops, resellers, and wholesalers, and we ship nationwide from Garland, Texas, in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Which screens qualify for buyback?
We buy cracked original screens. The best candidates are original OLED and LCD panels from iPhone, Samsung, iPad, and Apple Watch. Recent iPhone flagships, including the iPhone 17 Pro Max and iPhone 16 Pro Max, are in high demand.
A screen needs to meet a short set of conditions before it is worth sending.
- It is an original panel, not an aftermarket or copy screen.
- The display lights up and shows a picture.
- Touch responds across the whole screen.
- It has not been taken apart or modified in a way that damages the panel.
What lowers the grade of a screen?
We grade every screen by hand, and the grade sets the price. Screens in good working condition earn more. Screens with problems earn less or are counted as bad or copy screens.
Common reasons a screen grades lower include lines or dark spots on the display, areas where touch does not respond, burn-in or heavy discoloration, damage to the flex cable, and any sign the screen is a copy.
The grading is done on our side, so you do not need to decide the grade before you ship. You tell us the model and quantity. We do the grading and send you an offer. Because grades come from hand inspection, a clear sort on your end still helps. Keep obviously dead or lined screens apart from the good ones, so nothing gets mixed up in transit.
If you are unsure whether a screen is original, read our guide on telling original OLEDs from copies before you pack.
How much will I get paid?
Buyback prices are shown to registered members only. Create an account to see the price list for each model and grade.
Your total comes from the quantity of each model you send, multiplied by the price for the grade each screen receives. You enter the total quantity per model when you submit the request, and we confirm the grade for each screen after testing.
How do I sell my screens, step by step?
The process is short. You register once, then repeat the steps for each batch.
- Register a business account and log in.
- Open the sell form, choose the models, and enter the quantity of each.
- Enter your return address and your payout method: PayPal, Zelle, or Cash App.
- Pack the screens and ship them to the address on your request, with any carrier you like. Add the tracking number to your request.
- We receive the box, test and grade each screen by hand, and send you an offer.
- Accept the offer. We send your payout within 24 hours of your acceptance.
How should I pack and ship the screens?
Packing affects your grade. A screen that arrives with a damaged flex or a cracked panel layer can grade lower than it did on your bench. Protect the screens from pressure and from each other.
You choose the carrier and pay for shipping, and you add the tracking number to your request so we can follow the box. Write your request ID on the outside of the box. Our full packing guide covers the materials, stacking, and labeling.
How does the payout work?
After we grade your screens, you see the offer on your request page. You can accept or decline.
If you accept, we pay by PayPal, Zelle, or Cash App, whichever you chose for that request, within 24 hours of your acceptance.
If you decline, we return your screens. You provide the return label for the shipment back to you.
Check the payout details before you submit. Payout details lock once you accept the offer, so an incorrect email or handle can slow your payment.
How do I get the most from a batch?
Sort first. Separate screens by model, then pull out anything with visible lines, dead touch zones, or heavy discoloration. A clean sort makes your own count easier to check against the offer.
Ship fuller batches less often rather than one or two screens at a time. You pay for shipping on every box, so fewer, fuller boxes cost less per screen.
Enter the quantity per model accurately when you submit the request. Your listed quantities set the estimate; your payout comes from what we count and grade in the box.
Who is this for?
Buyback is built for repair shops, resellers, and wholesalers. Over the past 10 years we have bought back more than 10,000 screens, and our customers span more than 10 states.
Shops that sell their cracked screens regularly tend to build a simple routine: one bin per model, a batch shipped once a week or once a month, and the payout used to restock parts.
If you also want to turn cracked originals back into sellable stock, our refurbishing service re-glasses screens starting at $40 per screen.
